About the Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a global non-formal educational framework which recognizes and celebrates young people’s achievements outside of the classroom.
The Award allows young people to determine what they are passionate about, regardless of their background, culture or access to resources.
Through developing universal and transferable skills, increasing their fitness levels, cultivating a sense of adventure and volunteering in their community, the Award inspires young people to take control, make their own choices and build their own unique programmes, helping them to find their purpose, passion and place in the world.
How does the Award work
Taking part in the Award takes commitment, a spirit of adventure, decision making, goal setting and perseverance in achieving them.
It won’t be easy, however, the sense of accomplishment you’ll feel at the end of the journey will be worth it, because it will be something you did just for YOU! It also looks great on post-secondary applications, scholarships, CV’s and job applications.
