Discover the Award Programme – Where Your Adventure Begins

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is the world’s leading non-formal education initiative, operating in over 130 countries and territories. It supports young people in discovering their potential and developing themselves beyond the classroom. In Romania, the Award provides a structured, internationally recognised framework through which teenagers and young adults aged 14 to 24 can build their own experiential learning journey, honing their perseverance, civic spirit, and self-confidence. More than just an extracurricular activity, the Award is a global platform for personal development that bridges the gap between formal education, communities, and the labour market.

We invite you to discover the entire Award community in Romania: young participants, leaders, volunteers, parents, schools, NGOs, and companies. Here, you will find detailed information about the programme levels (Bronze, Silver, and Gold), resources for those looking to start their adventure, inspirational stories from those who have already completed the programme, and an active network of licensed centres. Our website is a resource platform designed to meet the needs of both newcomers and those already part of the Award ecosystem who wish to stay connected to news, events, and opportunities for involvement.

Being part of the Award community means more than just earning an internationally recognised distinction: it means belonging to a network of people dedicated to shaping a generation of responsible, courageous, and future-oriented young people. For youth, it is a chance to build a personal portfolio that combines skill development, volunteering, physical activity, and adventurous journeys. For adults—parents, teachers, mentors, or supporters—it is an opportunity to contribute directly to the positive transformation of the community by supporting the educational journey of its youngest members. Together, we create a space where personal excellence meets social responsibility, and every step becomes a learning experience.
