The Award equips young people for life and work
Not all learning happens in the classroom. Young people need experiences outside the classroom to become committed, responsible and fulfilled citizens of the world.
What is the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award?
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is the world leader in personal development programs for young people aged 14-24. Regardless of the background, the economic or social context of the young, the program improves life and gives it the chance to excel and to be internationally recognized for it.
Supported by the British Royal Family with HRH The Duke of Edinburgh KG, KT as Global Patron, the Award is now available to young people in Romania under the patronage of Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown. The programme brings together new knowledge, fun and nature so that each young person has memorable experiences and life skills to help them in the professional and personal future.
Since its launch over 60 years ago, the Award has inspired millions of young people to transform their lives. Through non formal education and learning, the Award can play a critical role in a young person’s personal development and is achievable by any young person who wants to take up the challenge.
