Award Projects in Romania

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award programme is delivered consistently across all participating countries, following the same principles, structure, and international quality standards. This global coherence offers young people everywhere a shared experience of development and self‑discovery. At the same time, each participating country has the opportunity to create complementary initiatives through its National Award Agency, tailored to the local context. In Romania, the Award Foundation builds on this strategy to develop projects that respond to the real needs of young people, reflecting the cultural, educational, and social characteristics of their communities.

The projects developed by Award Romania complement the classic pathway of the programme and aim to open doors for as many young people as possible, regardless of their background, level of opportunity, or socio‑economic context. They create safe spaces for exploration, learning, and engagement, helping to reduce inequalities and to shape a generation that is more connected, more aware, and more active.

Through these initiatives, the aim is to equip young people in Romania with essential skills for the future: critical thinking, independence, adaptability, emotional intelligence, teamwork, and civic responsibility. They are offered more than information – they are offered experiences that challenge them, inspire them, and strengthen their confidence, preparing them to contribute positively to society.

Award Romania is building an inclusive and relevant framework in which every young person is encouraged to discover their potential, push beyond their limits, and shape their own path towards a future with meaning, impact, and belonging.
