Virtual Award Centre

If you are 14 to 24 years old and would like to take part in The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, but your school, university, organisation or workplace does not yet run the programme, you have the option to complete it independently through the Virtual Award Centre, coordinated by the national Award Foundation. You will work alongside a dedicated Award Leader who will guide you step by step.

You will need to be motivated and attentive to the opportunities around you to complete the Award in this way.

How to Register with the Virtual Award Centre

Step 1: Choose the right level

Think about which level of the Award programme you would like to complete – this depends on your age and the amount of time you can dedicate to your personal development.

Step 2: Registration

You have two options:

  • Complete the registration form and we will contact you with further details, or
  • Create an account directly on the Online Record Book (ORB) platform, selecting The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award RomaniaVirtual Award Centre from the “Award Centre” menu.
Step 3: Choosing activities and your Award Leader

After registration, you will be assigned an Award Leader. Together, you will decide which activities you will do for each section of the programme. You will also need an activity instructor (assessor) who will confirm your progress for each activity. In the end, the Foundation will validate your programme through the Virtual Award Centre.

Step 4: Record your progress

Use the ORB platform to track and record your development. Make sure each activity is validated by the designated instructor once you have completed it.

Step 5: Completing the programme and official recognition

Once you have completed all sections, your programme will be reviewed and approved by the Virtual Award Centre. After validation, you will receive the certificate and badge corresponding to the level you have achieved, in an Award Recognition Ceremony alongside other participants, leaders, sponsors, family and community members.
