We are thrilled to share the highlights of our recent event, the Award Community Day: Shades of Culture, held on March 2nd at Cluj Hub. This event, presented through the Stand By Me initiative with support from UNICEF, brought together a diverse group of individuals to honor the giant efforts of our Award Leaders, Centres, and partners in delivering the Award program.

Throughout the day, attendees participated in engaging activities focused on cross-cultural awareness and career development, showcasing how the Award fosters the growth and development of young people. From interactive learning sessions to insightful discussions, participants gained valuable insights and connected with like-minded individuals. A particularly beneficial session titled “Mentoring: Lead with Authenticity” was offered for our Award Leaders.

“I found the Cross-Cultural awareness activity incredibly useful as it provided me with insights on how to communicate respectfully with individuals from different cultural backgrounds, ensuring that I do not inadvertently offend anyone,”

Balint Antonia Elena, Silver level Award Participant at Royal School Transilvania.

A highlight of the event was the opportunity to reflect on our achievements over the past year, particularly our endeavors to support the Ukrainian community and provide access to the Award for young displaced individuals. We also outlined our future plans to continue supporting international communities and expand the program’s accessibility to all youth in Romania, including those in harder-to-reach areas.

“It was truly amazing to hear the presentation on the work with Ukrainians. This is the first time I’ve encountered an organization that deeply understands and accurately describes the challenges faced by Ukrainians like myself,”
Robert Konoplia, founder of the telegram chat “Cluj: Ukrainians in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.”
