Mihaela Mariș leads the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Romania team with passion and dedication, driven by the mission to offer young people valuable and relevant experiences that meet their needs in a world of constant change.
Involved since the very beginnings of the programme at national level, a founding member, former national coordinator and a Gold Award holder, Mihaela brings over 10 years of experience in non-formal education, leadership and community development. She firmly believes that young people are catalysts for change, and that investing in their development is one of the most valuable contributions to Romania’s present and future. This is possible only together with a team of professionals — a team that extends beyond the staff to include managers, Leaders, Supervisors and Assessors.
Under her leadership, the Award programme in Romania has continued to grow and evolve. Mihaela is recognised for her ability to connect people, ideas and resources, creating initiatives such as Youth Haferland and Power of Now, as well as building strong partnerships across the education sector, the business community and the non-profit world.
